Introduction

This language learning app was developed by Valon Januzi to provide a fast, engaging, and effective way for users to learn foreign languages using advanced technology, including AI. The app is available as a free version and a premium version with additional features available through a subscription.

This Privacy Policy is intended to inform users about our policies regarding the collection, use, and protection of personal information.

By using this app, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Data Collection and Usage

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to servers we operate. Your name, your progress and your settings stay on your device. The only data that ever leaves your device is what you actively submit to the optional AI features, which are described in detail below.

The following information is collected during onboarding and usage, but is only stored locally on your device (in cache or local storage):

  • Your name (if provided)
  • Your native language
  • Your learning goal or motivation
  • Lesson progress and learning history
  • Interface language and app settings
  • Subscription and premium status

We do not have access to this data. If you uninstall the app or clear your device cache, all data will be permanently deleted.

AI features and third-party processing

Some optional features of the app — the translator, the AI tutor chat, the exercise generator and pronunciation scoring — are powered by third-party AI services.

These features are off until you turn them on. The first time you open one of them, the app shows a consent screen that names the services and lists exactly what is sent. Nothing is sent to them unless you agree, and you can withdraw your agreement at any time in Settings → “AI assistant”, after which the app makes no further requests to these services.

What we collect and how

When you use an AI feature, the app collects only what you provide in that moment:

  • Text you type — a word or sentence you enter into the translator, a message you write to the AI tutor, or a topic you choose for a generated exercise. Collected directly from the input field, at the moment you press send.
  • Voice recordings — collected from the microphone, only while you press or hold the record button yourself, and only on the screens that score pronunciation. The recording is sent so that what you said can be transcribed into text.
  • Photos — a single photo you take or select yourself, collected only when you choose it in the exercise generator, so that words and sentences can be generated from what the photo shows. We do not read, scan or upload your photo library.

How we use it

Solely to produce the result you asked for: a translation, a tutor reply, a generated exercise, a transcription of what you said, or a pronunciation score. It is not used for advertising, profiling or model training, it is not sold, and it is not linked to your identity. We do not keep a server-side copy of it.

Who we share it with

  • OpenAI, L.L.C. (United States) — receives the text, audio and photos described above in order to return the result. Under the OpenAI API data usage policies, data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI’s models and is retained only for a limited period for abuse monitoring before deletion.
  • Google LLC (Google Cloud Text-to-Speech) — receives lesson text in order to speak it aloud. Under the Google Cloud data processing terms, the text is processed only to fulfil the request and is not used to train Google’s models.

We have reviewed both providers’ terms and confirm that they provide the same or equivalent protection for this data as described in this Privacy Policy.

What is never sent

Your name, e-mail address, location, contacts, calendar, health data, payment details, your other photos, and your learning history are never sent to these AI services. No user identity or account identifier is attached to these requests.

What Data is Stored

All data is stored locally on your device and may include:

  • Lesson progress and learning history
  • Preferred language and interface settings
  • Subscription and premium access status

If the app is deleted or cache is cleared, this data will be permanently lost.

Log Data

If the app crashes or encounters an error, temporary log data may be created to help identify the problem. This data is stored locally and is not automatically transmitted to us or any third parties.

Cookies

The app does not use cookies to track users. If any cookies appear, they originate from third-party tools like AdMob, which may use their own tracking for ads.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to improve user experience:

  • OpenAI, L.L.C. – processes the text, voice recordings and photos you submit to the optional AI features, in order to return the result. See “AI features and third-party processing” above.
  • Google LLC (Google Cloud Text-to-Speech) – receives lesson text in order to read it aloud.
  • Google Firebase – for push notifications and crash reporting
  • Google AdMob – for advertising in the free version
  • Google Analytics – limited, anonymous usage tracking (if enabled)

Apart from the content you actively submit to the AI features, we do not share personal data with these services. You can disable ads by subscribing to the premium version, and you can disable the AI features in Settings → “AI assistant”.

Subscriptions and Payments

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed securely through Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information or personal billing data.

Subscription status and purchase history are managed entirely by your app store account.

Security

We take user privacy seriously. All personal data is stored on your own device and never reaches servers we operate. What you submit to the optional AI features is sent over an encrypted connection directly to the providers named above, and only after you have agreed to it.

Children’s Privacy

This app is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us, and we will delete it.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all user data is stored on your device, you are in full control of data retention. If you uninstall the app or clear the cache, all data will be deleted and cannot be recovered.

We do not retain any of your data on our servers. Your translation history and saved words are stored only on your device and can also be removed with Settings → “Reset database”.

Links to External Sites

Our app may include links to third-party websites (e.g., support, help pages, or developer websites). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these external sites.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. Any updates will be posted on this page, and the effective date will be revised. We encourage users to review this policy regularly.
